For the last month, everyone in our household has been getting really good sleep, even my 2 year old. I usually aim to get 8 hour in as its such an important part of health, sleep aids in the healing and repair of our bodies tissues. However, after a busy day with lots to think about I don’t always fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Then I was introduced to Max Richter’s new classical composition ‘Sleep’. This 8 hour piece has been composed to reinforce and reflect natural sleep cycles. I can certainly testify to its ability to gradually lower me into the tunnel of sleep and my lively toddler seams soothed by it’s waves of strings. Even if you don’t use it as a sleep aid, listening to it may be an antidote to the pace of the modern world and the torrent of information that we are faced with.
So if you have trouble nodding off yourself or you know someone who does, or you just want sometime out from the whirlwind around you, I highly recommend listening to this wonderful piece of music.
